Hi new to the forums , picked up an lcr last month and all was good till tonight when I jumped in the car to go to the shops , put the car in reverse and went to pull away and as I lifted my foot of the clutch it was stuck to the floor .. had to stall the car to get it to stop .

I pulled the pedal back up with my toe and pumped it a few times and it seemed ok but tried again and same thing happened , tried one more time and just drove it in to the driveway but noticed fluid under where the car was , any ideas what it could be ? I got some pics and tried to get a video but as I'm a new member I can't post pics yet .
Thanks

Sounds like clutch master cylinder mate my golf done the same thing.

If I turn the wheels to the left and you look in from the front of the passengers side wheel , the fluid is running and dripping down below where the black cap people having been saying to put a metal shim in to stop the whiney gearbox , I take it that's the gearbox ? the fluid is coming from the bottom part of that block .
thanks

Can't remember what I paid now bout 100 quid I think. Have you had a feel round the master cylinder to see if it's dripping down from there?

am I right in thinking the master cylinder is behind the clutch pedal ? if so it's not coming from there .

I think I found where the leak is coming from .. if you look into the engine bay between the left hand side of the battery and right hand side of the engine , there is a thin metal pipe with like some sort of connector on the end of it a bit of the plastic has a crack on it , when my mate was pumping the clutch pedal the plastic was expanding slightly letting some fluid out , anyone any ideas what the part could be ?

I have a pic of the connector but cant post a picture yet .
Thanks again for any responses .

Hi mate, as far as I no the clutch slave cylinder is inside the gearbox on your car its called a concentric slave cylinder. Your probably looking at quite abit more than £100 to sort it. You'd save a lot if you could do the job yourself. Also be worth throwing a complete clutch kit in too while the box is off.

The master cylinder is for your brakes but most of the time they have a pipe that comes of it to feed your slave cylinder with fluid. You may be lucky and it could be that pipe that's at fault.

Sounds like it's the hydraulic pipe that feeds the slave in the box mate, if so lucky fella

yeah mate it was the pipe that goes in to where the bleed nipple is , the seal on the inside of that pipe had failed , got my mechanic to whip it out earlier and ordered a new seal from vw , will see if that does the trick otherwise I will get the new pipe part as well as couldn't get that from vw , was also at work so didn't have time to drive to a seat/audi dealership.
Thanks
