Hi everyone

When I got my Leon a couple of weeks ago I opted for the paint / interior protection which is gauranteed for three years. Now I like to keep my car clean and waxed, and my question is can I wax my car even although it has had this treatment. I know I cannot polish it as this would take off the treatment.

Advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for your reply, I have Meguiars carnauba and Simoniz hard wax. The car is gleaming at the moment only being two weeks old. I also have the Meguiars quick detailer and assume this will be okay to use as well.:thanks:

Supaguard and was told it is a three year warranty.

supaguard lol , if you don't mind me asking how much did they charge you for the treatment ? as I can tell you now when I worked in citroen they actually get the supaguard packs in for about £25 and were charging customers up to £300 depending on what pack they went for .

Tbh mate the supaguard is garbage and will not protect the paint the way they tell you it will , don't get me wrong the spray for the seats and carpets ain't to bad .

I have first hand knowledge of this product as I've done valeting /detailing for years .

Superguard might be 3

I have lifeshine by autoglym, pretty much a waste if money tbh. The seat and glass treatments are OK, but for the paint you can apply better stuff yourself.

Didn't cost me anything thank goodness after what you have said. It was the last part of the deal I negotiated with the dealer. Glad that the interior protection is okay

How soon would you say I start applying wax as they look to have done a good job of the paintwork imo.

Having looked at most of these treatments it seems to me that they are all a waste of time. Glad it did not cost me anything.

I like to wax my car perhaps three or more times a year so will keep the lustre it has at the moment looking good I hope.

Thats a relief! I got a partial refund for mine and kept the warranty.

Id Leave it. It is a protectant after all and it should do a good job. Without a polish and decontamination you may diminish the supaguard, reducing its life.

Id advise you to read the smallprint regarding the warranty e.g using only supaguard shampoo, no polishing, etc etc

Thanks. I just want to keep the car nice and clean and will only use good quality shampoo eg Meguiars and microfibre cloths and mitts and of course the two bucket method as well as just waxing the car avoiding polish.

Not going to be concerned too much about using the supaguard products once they run out, think you can get a bit paranoid about these things, as long as the car looks good when it is washed and waxed that is what I am looking for.

If you make a claim watch what you say! They wont entertain any other products. and any bird poo, bug mess or spill has to be cleaned off straight away.

I doubt you will have to make a claim though unless you had a genuine problem.

I discovered they hadnt applied lifeshine to my car at the point of collection, and then a further 2 times after dropping it off!! And they didnt give me a care pack or warranty certificate straight away. Thats why they gave me a refund, naught naughty.

Thanks for that. Hopefully it will be fine and I can stick to my cleaning regime and have no problems with the paintwork which looks stunning in emocion red, my 5th red car in 40+ years of driving and easily the best.
