Hi there i have 2 questions i need help with

1) Does anybody have a Cobra cat back non resonated exhaust system on their LCR? & whats it like?

2) Does anybody know anyone who fits boots gauges and oil temp sensor gauge in the midlands area? Been struggling to find someone who can fit oil temp sensor gauge.

Any help or advice will be appreciated though! Cheers

I have that exhaust on my LC and love it, not too loud round town too

As for the gauge, why not do it yourself

So its worth having? Did you notice any difference power wise, acceleration ?

The boost gauge can be done by my friend but no one seems to know how to connect the temp sensor gauge inc me so id rather get it done properly if i need it doing :/

I've fitted a boost gauge which wasn't too hard and have wired in a temp gauge but haven't fitted the sender yet, but apparently there a place for it to go into the oil pump, directly above the oil filter, and I think I've found it. Find your filter, go in a straight line up the pump and then behind some hoses you'll see a bolt holding on a bracket of some kind. I didn't think it was that at first but I can't see anything else it could be and the thread I read said "On top of the oil filter housing is a port you can use. Just screw it in there. You can't miss it, look for the oil filter and its dead on top"

I've got a 2.5" cobra cat back too.
It's great for what I wanted, not loud but you can hear it well enough when you boot it.
You cannot expect any noticeable power difference just from fitting a cat back.

The cats are the most restrictive part of the exhaust. Throwing on a decat would give better gains than changing the catback. Before I got my 3" downpipe and decat I had a standard downpipe with a decat pipe and had to stick my standard cats back in for my MOT, and the car was noticeably slower. This was after a remap though so the car was tuned to the decat, but I think the point still stands. If you can afford it buy a pipewerx DP and decat for 360 and then get a catback when you can to complete the turbo back system.

So i should get a pipewerx DP first with a decat? Then the rest of the exhaust when i can?

I just wanted something that gargles you see like when im driving normally you can hear it a small amount but when my foot goes down you can hear it properly.. My friend has a cat back system on his anniversary golf so i just wondered if it would make the same effect on an LCR ..

For sound start with the catback. It won't really help performance though. On eBay you can get a scorpion decat for 140 quid which goes inline with the standard downpipe and will free up a little bit of power without a remap and will also let the turbo spool up faster, but to get the most out of any mod you need a remap really. The downside of the scorpion decat is when it's not fully up to temp it sounds really tinny and rattly at low rpms. That's the main reason I sold it and forked out for the pipewerx dp and decat. The upside of the scorpion is you can stick your standard cats back in for MOT but you can't with the pipewerx. Start with the catback if sound is more important and then decide whether to just get the scorpion decat or the 3" straight through pipewerx downpipe and decat. Pipewerx also do a sportscat version but that's nearly 500 quid and with the price of a catback ontop of that you would be better off getting a proper turbo back system or even a custom system. I hope that answers your question

Thats made a lot more sense mate thank you!
Ive always wanted a car with a great sound tbh and now i have a LCR which is capable of creating that but just need an updated exhaust ...

In advice wise, would you think the cobra car back system non resonated would be a good purchase @ 305£? And then later on when affordable put a pipewerx down pipe through?

That sounds like a plan to me mate. I've never heard a cobra myself but they're a known brand a that's a good price for a catback that ain't some crappy eBay jobbie.

Right then thats what my student loan will go on haha..
Cheers mate much appreciated help, cleared things up for me
