Get a grip. From the title it sounds like you've written the car off and killed your entire family in the process, not dinged a wheel!

Ha ha. Maybe a slight over reaction. But they are bloody smart wheels

I would be devastated as well. I would rather have flu for a fortnight than kerb one of my alloys. Given the nature of this forum, I suspect I'm not alone in this thinking.

It would annoy me if I had done it, and have had a little curb rash in the past on sets of wheels and I am pretty careful when parking.

Does not look like much damage on the wheel and think I would live with it until I could justify refurbing it.

I kerbed my NSF 2 weeks after delivery, and didn't bother sorting it at the time. As it happens, someone then crashed into the whole nearside (including said wheel) 6 weeks later, so it then got a full refurb anyway under the other driver's insurance along with the rest of the repairs.

Don't take my advice though... bit of an extreme way to do it.

Aye you for real?

Mercedes garage where I got the car from sorted mine for £70 which I thought was expensive

Yes. I don't understand why you're surprised?

Baring in mind at this point no pictures had been posted (sounded a lot worse than it was looking).

You have to take into account wheel size, removal/replacement if tyres, acid dipping, sanding, straightening, powder-coating, masking/spraying/diamond cutting/polishing (if any sort of custom finish), regiment of tyres and balancing.

£100+ for a single wheel refurb when 18" or above is not at all uncommon. There are certain companies as well who I'd go nowhere near after seeing the quality of their work. One of which has already been mentioned in this thread.

Just like with body/paint work you tend to get what you pay for. To a point.

I think I'll hold out for someone to smash I to me then.
