Still getting used to the Leon, so many configuration options in that touchscreen menu! Would love to give that 1.8 engine a real good thrashing but holding back until it gets a couple of thousand miles under its belt.
I got it from buyacar.co.uk, I don't mind naming them now that the car has been successfully delivered.
Pics - not for a while yet, as the winter grime is creating havoc with the white paint!

Well believe it or not that was the name I had in mind. I mentioned further up in the thread I dropped the cheapest one due to transparency and on top of that my spider sense was tingling lol, that was them.

Never had an incar touch screen menu so it'll be interesting sussing it out. I'm hoping I can ditch my trusty ol' TomTom now, seems the SEAT unit does the job going by feedback.

First ever white car as well, wished I'd got white the last time. Pound to a penny I'll be wishing I had my Silver back when the muck builds up on it, a great grime hider is the silver.

Safe motoring

I was BuyaCar too btw. Let there be a lesson somewhere there for future buyers. Seemed a good idea at the time....! Loving my 1.8TSi DSG. Just clocked 2500 miles & first 40+ mpg. Tried all "modes" but decided "Eco" too unresponsive, especially at junctions/ roundabouts. Keeping it in "Normal" most of time & using gearshift lever to knock into "Sport" when overtaking etc. Suits me best. Missus loves car too, & she hated my Mini! All god so far! Just wish I had sooner!

Just had a read back at your old posts to get the full picture, boy you must have been well hacked off, this reply to your asking for dealer info made me laugh...

"due to the sensitive nature of our supply route in supplying this car at such a large discount, this information must remain confidential"

...who do they think they are  'this message will self destruct in 5 4 2 ... :D '

I found them very unprofessional right from the kick off, first time I've ever felt pressured into ordering. The price 'to change' was tempting but the big mystique over the dealer killed it off. They weren't the cheapest, it was the p/x that nudged them in front.

Research flagged up that cars not arriving on time and the offer to return the deposit was common. No dealer receipt was another, just paperwork from BAC. Waiting for the DVLA to send out your V5 is the norm but some people had waited several months and in the end had to chase it up. Then there was the delivery, free to England & Wales but Scotland carried a premium, fair enough, hears the weird bit, opting to collect from London added £50  so you drive to London negating any need for delivery, saving them money, and your charged 50 notes for it . I had a changeover planned for Southwaite Services on the M6 by this point lol. I could go on and on and on.

And I will :D I came across a thread somewhere online where the place was being slated, several people were complaining and adding their tuppence worth, and right at the end of the thread was this glowing post about how great their experience had been, straight away I thought that's the company themselves, had a look at the posters profile and it was a 1st post, made sometime in 2009, hasn't made a post since  ...it speaks volumes that.

I wouldn't let the experience put you off buying a car online again, I've bought several and everyone, without exception, has been a pleasurable experience. Just make it a hard fast rule that if you do not know or will have no involvement whatsoever with the dealer then simply walk away.

Anyway, I'm glad all ended well and you're happy chappies with your FR's, wish I could've stretched to one myself but it was just out of reach, that's marriage for you lol.

How long after you got the car did it take for you to get the V5C from BuyaCar?

Hi

Did your car come with car mats?

Mine is due to be delivered on Monday via BuyaCar

No car mats.
Wide selection available from fleabay, £10-£40 depending on how thick you would like them.
Fitted perfectly with the matching stud and holes.

184 arrived today with car mats!

Must say I cannot fault the service a received from BuyaCar. Car arrived a week early without faults.

Unlike my first internet car purchase (Direct from a Seat dealer) which was delivered with significant paint faults.

I will definitely use BuyaCar for future purchases.:D

Only tip is pay your depost using a credit card not Paypal otherwise the entire value of you new car will not be covered under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act (Just for peace of mind). Paypal's solicitors confirmed that this is the case.

I suspect, like a few other brokers, that they order cars in blocks to secure a bigger discount. If they order say 20 at a time and your car is number 2 of 20 then you have to wait until another 18 have placed an order, too. If you're lucky and are number 19 or 20 then you get a much shorter wait time.

Just a theory...

Do you not think the problem could be Seat rather than the broker, when you think about it the broker places the order then waits for the car just like you, really its out of there hands, its not like there building it them selves. I suppose thats the price you have to pay for getting the car so cheap. Ive ordered through a broker and the car gets here when it gets here, for the saving I don't mind waiting.

Hi the point is you actually do not have to wait any longer than if you had ordered though a dealer. In fact reading users posts on the subject of ordering from a dealer show many get a poor service and have to wait far longer than they should for their cars.

I ordered from a main dealer... 17 weeks ago! I'm still waiting. So yeah, I agree!

It arrived in the country on Thursday last week, but I've not heard anything since. I dont think anythings gone wrong as such, it just took a little longer getting to Sheerness than scheduled. I'm hoping it may still make its way to me this week. I can't imagine it'll be much longer now it's actually in the UK, but it's definitely been a very long wait!

Mine got into sheerness last Thursday too, called seat today and was told they had placed the transport order with Eddie stobart on Sunday to deliver it to the dealer (west London). They are contracted to deliver in 3 to 5 working days so it should be there by Friday...

...theoretically

Mine arrived at the dealership on Thursday, I'm collecting it on Tuesday afternoon.

Meaning mine has taken a couple of days over seventeen weeks since I ordered from a main dealer.

For no particular reason it didn't arrive last week but I should pick it up tomorrow :)
