I didnt,i had a 57 plate R26 not the new shape megane.
My brother has a RS 250 11 plate,and no it doesnt brake down!
Id have said mine is slightly quicker but the megane is a LOT better handling and has a better LSD.

Interesting to see people mentioning the Megan 265 - drove one of these a couple of weeks ago as wasn't particularly impressed. I guess coming from rear wheel drive cars there are going to be differences/compromises.
Haven't seen a lot of comment about the difference in performance - do people think the extra 25 bhp is worth it? Is there actually a noticeable difference on the road?

Alot of it is down to the driver. A good driver driving a cupra could be quicker than Ben Dover driving a cupra r.
But in the real world there wont be much diff.
Like Leigh said a remap brings out the same power. And 60-70bhp gain from stage 1 cupra is very good for the $$¥

Funny how it works isn't it? Even though sense says get a Cupra, because frankly the features an R provides aren't worth the markup to most people, there is still that pull towards the "top" model
It is really! But there is something nice about it.
Granted to us the extra details on the R were worth it, but that's our choice. And we got it for the price of a Cupra anyway haha
Its not at all, There will always be a draw to have "the best" of everything, same reason why people change a mobile phone.
