No one got any comments on all my updates today?
I was thinking that other than battery it might only be seals as I can't we any other reason why it would take days for the problem to surface. Having said that I'm surprised it didn't after 4 days. I think I'm just going to have to keep using it as normal and when it does next time get it recovered.
What do you think of the squealing noise in the video
Impatient much?![]()
Also I have a separate issue today. In hope of making sure everything is running perfect I added some dielectric grease into the maf connection, as there are hundreds of people saying how successful this is in improving smoothness etc. My car seems to run ok, but mpg is now is down by 4mpg and turbo lag has increase loads low down. Also idle has got rough again. I don't know if this is. A used by the grease or all the faults today. Does accelerator need calibrating or anything when batt comes off
Battery is plug and play with cleaned clamps, unless u have touched anything esle

Who the living fek told you to put grease on an intensely sensitive thread element the width of a hair who's sole purpose it is to be in direct contact with the air, so it can measure it (duh!).
The only thing that should touch a MAF sensor element is air, MAF cleaner and carb cleaner at a push.
On that note, get some carb cleaner and spray the MAF inside again...GENTLY. THen reset the ECU
Not the actual maf just the electrical connection. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=101577Who the living fek told you to put grease on an intensely sensitive thread element the width of a hair who's sole purpose it is to be in direct contact with the air, so it can measure it (duh!).

I appreciate all the help, anyway it was unusual for no one to have commented all day, especially on such an important thread!!!
You should be dropping everything to give him all this free advice![]()

Even that will have a bad connection coz grease might not be touching the wire or getting a signal

No this is special electric connection grease. I can see what he did now. Phew!!!
Regardless, might be an idea to clean the MAF hehe. Never hurts really. Unless you break the MAF....then it hurts bad.
Everyone on the link swears by the stuff, but as we know im cursed, so do you think it has caused the new symptoms I have described, or is that something to do with my existing starting problem. No this is special electric connection grease. I can see what he did now. Phew!!!
