I had a mk5 Golf with xenons that were better and before that a Clio 197 with xenons that were better than the Golf's. I think I need to start buying cars in the winter so I can try out the headlights before I buy! The spread of light is fine, but theyre just not bright enough and the main beam just moves the light up a bit, it doesn't add any extra light like even a set of halogens does.

I bought the Cupra with a view to trading it for the rumoured AWD Cupra R* when it came out, but that won't be happening if it has the same lights at the front. A car with this much performance needs to be putting a lot of light on the road when driving in the dark.

*Looking like it won't be happening anyway now, so this point is moot...

The LED headlights have 3 additional LED's for full beams?

vw still uses xenon's you can always come back to the darkside when you trade in

Will be looking at the Golf R mefinks. Here is a pic that proves what I'm on about. Look at the A3 sister car's xenon beam pattern compared to the Leon's.
