Was supposed to be picking mine up tomorrow but I phoned the dealer today to check everything was ok and was told the car is not ready as the body shop have only just finished painting and fitting them today, and doesn't recommend driving it tomorrow until the bond has had at least 24 hours to cure. Keeping in mind they have had the car all week and they've only just done it has not made me too happy, official excuse is the side skirts were delivered with the wrong brackets so they had to reorder the correct ones.

Sounds like a similar issue that Moonhead had with his. Looks like I'm picking monday instead, just hoping for good weather.

I take it yours has gone to M&M too then mate? Don't know what that 24hr rubbish is about. They didn't even start spraying mine until the Wed morning and picked it up the following day. I know M&M are really busy at present and it appears they are in no rush for Stoke SEAT customers to get there long awaited cars. I must be honest though, they have done a fantastic job on mine.

Yes it is M&M, their "approved Seat partner". Someone is telling porkies then, bit annoyed as its turned out of be nice weather this afternoon, could be out there waxing it right now :(. Went in to sign my finance documents anyway, only three things, bit of a wasted trip for that don't know why I couldn't do it on the day of pickup they insisted I couldn't.

Finally picked her up today, dead pleased amazing car, even at half throttle you can feel the power. Played with the adaptive cruise control a bit and its really good glad I added it to the order its an amazing system. Have a few bad points but they are only minor things that my old octavia had that the leon doesn't, I'll update the "100 miles in" thread when I've hit it.

Just to update everyone now I've taken delivery of the car and everythings been finalised, some may remember the black leather seat cupra logo missing problem I mentioned back in the cupra order thread. Basically I raised it with Seat CS back when I ordered the car (for the record they replied with yes it would come with the logo), when the final confirmation that the seats will not come with the logo came through to the dealer (the week the car was being built no less!) I re-opened my case with CS.

The car arrived a week later and CS contacted the dealer, Credit to stoke after some discussion they managed to get CS to pay for my side skirts £550 minus the vat (leaving me to pay the vat) after mentioning to them I was a loyal VAG customer and that was interested in getting the side skits but didn't want to pay that much for them when CS asked what kind of compensation I might be looking for. Doesn't fully refund the cost of leather seats (£765 inc vat) for mis-selling them but was a good result never the less. Really glad I have the side skirts they look really good and add a bit more sporty look to the conservative styling of the car.

I ordered a SC 1.6 SE on the 27th June, build week has been confirmed has week 36 (1st Sept), is the end of September a realistic time to "hope" for delivery?

Tech pack, LED pack and Technic grey if this helps.

That looks awesome TMO! Agree with your comment about the side skirts - just that extra bit sporty.

So I heard from the dealership that my new car came off the produciton line last Thursday. He mentioned that it now goes by rail and sea to the UK but had no idea when it might arrive. It's not too huge of an issue as we've agreed a 4th September pickup date which is plenty of time but....

I've seen plenty of people here talking about exactly which cargo ship their car is on and knowing when that ship makes port in the UK. How did you get that information as my dealer seems to have no idea!

from factory to docks by rail and then by boat to uk.

As said above can be tracked once on boat.

It's been a little over a month for me since I ordered, no word from the dealer yet on build date/shipping date etc.

I'm guessing he'll only get in touch when it's actually arrived!

Once your car is loaded onto a ship the dealer should be able to give you the ships name. Once you have the name of the vessel use https://www.marinetraffic.com/ to track its progress.

Wow thats a really cool site never knew that existed, just show how busy the english channel gets. Never knew the name of the ship mine came on so i wasnt able to track it :(.

Same with me if I hadn't of contacted Seat CS regarding something else and just happened to ask them the status of the build I would have never have known that the car would have landed in the uk 3 days later, didn't hear a peep from the dealer that it had been built and was on a ship etc. My recommendation would be keep chasing up yourself with the dealer or Seat CS if the dealer is being useless.

just over three weeks since my broker told me it was in Spain waiting to be shipped. It's not arrived yet but I am told that it is now imminent. However, it will then be at least another week I expect.

Wow, that does look really nice. I originally ordered a 5 door in this colour but in the end jumped on a silver car in mid-July rather than wait until November for the grey one. Very pleased with mine but think I know what I'll be having next time now...
