Wondered if any one else has had this problem. My media system started turning itself off a couple of times when the stop/start activated or I changed radio channels using the touch screen. Would come back on after 4 mins or so. On a longer trip last week it turned itself off every hour or so for a few minutes then came back on. The following day it wouldn't come on at all and has been off since. Booked into the dealers on Thursday to get it looked at.

Thanks for that. When I phoned the dealer the receptionist said that she didn't think they were aware of this problem. Will see what happens on Thursday....
when i took mine in they couldn't replicate the fault so i was asked to capture it which i did on iPhone video, sent it in and part ordered. no issues at all.
Ok, well mine has been dead since last Thursday, cant get it to come on at all. Kept going off every hour or so on the weds for 5 mins then came back on. The next day it was dead !
Would be interesting to know what your new hardware and software numbers are on your new unit. When fitted could you post?

I have had the same (or similar) problem.
On several occassions now I have been cut off in mid conversation during a phone call and the media system has dropped the bluetooth connection. Most times the media system then shuts down completely and the screen goes blank!! No amount of pressing the power button brings it back to life.
I then have to wait between 1-4 minutes before it will switch itself back on and reboot itself.
It has been into my local SEAT dealer, where they say they updated the software but it has made no difference. It hasnt happened for a few weeks now but happened twice today in the space of 20 minutes.

Had the new media system fitted today, great to have some tunes back on. Nothing on the invoice about software numbers, only a part number SE5F0035858. If you know where/how to find what you are looking for let me know.
Just as well it was replaced under warranty, price ex vat / fitting was £794.71 !

It does seem that way. My car was registered in April 2013 so cant complain, though an updated system would have been nice after such an early failure. I hope this version is more robust

Glad I found this thread. Only had my car for three weeks (although 8 months old). The other morning I got in to go to work, started the engine and noticed that the reverse display didnt come on as usual. Pressed the on button and ...nothing. Completely dead and has been since. Booked in to the dealer on Saturday morning and will let you know the outcome.
