Hi does anybody know if you can display the album cover on the media screen when using the bluetooth audio ?
If so how can it be done ?

Does the media screen display album covers when playing a CD ? As Ive literally never played a CD in this car !

Thanks
Steve

I dunno bout using Bluetooth but it doesn't when playing a cd, tried one yesterday for the first time.

Just had a quick play with my iPhone 6.

Plugged in via glovebox ipod cable - no album art, but full access to select artist/album etc
Connected by bluetooth - no album art and no access to select artist/album etc.

Note that I don't have any specific app for doing bluetooth music though, so that could be an option worth looking at if you're keen on using bluetooth.

For me I'm only interested in bluetooth for calls, as I use SD for music generally, and plug phone into iPod cable so that it charges.

The album art seems a bit hit and miss, I am not sure if some of this stuff is copyrighted somehow based on how you load them onto SD.

I have loaded albums onto SD, via windows media player that were purchased via amazon and received as an auto rip. All of the albums I have this way will not show album art, even though the jpg is in the albums folder. Other albums that were CD rips to my PC, and copied to SD, with the album art in the same folder, do display album art.

I cannot for the life of me get the amazon cloud player downloads to show the album art, even copied the files to fresh folders on the SD card and still nothing!

Not tried direct iphone yet, but seems just as picky!

The artwork needs to be embedded within the files, not simply placed in the folder I think. I have a mix of iTunes purchased music and CD's that I have ripped myself. Most of it is in .mp3 format, and generally if iTunes shows the album artwork then once I copy the files over to the SD then the artwork shows in the car.

If iTunes doesn't show embedded artwork then I either use the Get Artwork feature within iTunes to get it, else just go to Get Info on the files and drop in the artwork jpg.

I'm not sure it does you know, as I had a generic folder with random MP3's in it, I found a jpeg on google images I wanted to use, placed the jpg into the folder and it appears on my cars display. No embedding or anything. The ones that weren't working were embedded into the folder name, very odd isn't it.

Perhaps it does both? I don't have any images at all on my SD card rather every track has album art embedded into the ID3v2 tags. I resized all embedded art to 500x500 pixels and it mostly displays fine now. There are a few cases where an image does not display but I can't be arsed to chase it down.

And then today I mostly didn't get album art from my SD music.
Embedded int mp3, plus a copy in folder on some of it and doesn't show.
Must be size (pixels and Kb) of embedded artwork that it doesn't like always ??

Thanks for the feedback guys, I will give an sd card a try.

I borrowed my Dads car yesterday a 64 plate Isuzu D-Max Blade and connected My phone via Bluetooth and the album covers were displayed on the media screen which just makes Me think more why it doesnt just do it in the Leon !

I was hoping for an answer on getting album art via Bluetooth... All the music on my phone has album art, displays fine on the phone, and when copied to sd card displays perfectly on the car stereo. However Bluetooth direct from phone and no album art :-( there really must be a way surely?

My OCD does kick in when I see they're missing, but I convince myself that my above statement overrides that. :D

The worst is when you have an album cover showing and then it gets to track 4 and disappears!

Are you using the green mdi lightning cable? I believe the album art works with that cable.

I bought a green collar lightning cable from ebay for £15. Album art, video etc all work.
