Difference between these two 1.6 SE TDI's

Hey Guys,

In the market for a Leon and noticed some 1.6 TDI SE's are listed as £20 road tax and others as Zero. Any idea why or is it just the garage getting it wrong on the listing? They also have slightly different MPG's. These two are even the same year reg....

For example this one is 99grams and zero tax...

But this one is 102 grams and £20 road tax

maybe one's an Ecomotive model, set up to break the 100g barrier? all down to engine management settings....

In those two examples the Zero road tax one is a Seat dealer....hmmm!

Ahh I just googled that and it adds up!

What do you think to the blue one from Barry Scotts Autos? Love the colour but its 75 miles away from me

Paint is better than the red, metallic vs solid, but alloys are worse, depends what you figure is more important.

Do they both have painfully grey seats too? No shots inside on the red, id request some if it was in contention for you

All the ones I have seen seem to have Grey seats. I guess anything better was an optional extra?

I just had a look on the configurator on the seat website and the nicer alloys are an extra. They are a lot nicer looking!

Blimey im gonna be looking for a long time to find a second hand apollo blue one with upgraded alloys and seats!

yep, old skool gti seats, I had some lovely white and black alcantara seats in my mk2, how i miss them lol.

3dr and more expensive, but seats look better in this picture so maybe im wrong to diss them so readily.

I think your one has upgraded seats. They look more buckety than the one i linked.

Way over budget though and sadly we need 5 doors for a bit of future proofing.

Time to set up an autotrader Alert I think. Shame you cant exactly specify things like "not the shitty standard alloys"

Yeah I have set the alert up to notify me of all colours. Believe it or not there isnt one within 60 miles of me in cheltenham! Metalic it has to be though, the standard red and white just dont do it for me. Think i could be swayed with the metalic Red or Black.

Do you think there might be a flood of them when the new 15 Reg's come out in march and rich people trade in for newer cars?

possibly, and youd expect prices to come down when the new plate is out, so it would be daft to buy right now, best wait and see what happens after march

Thanks for your help Graham. I think I will do exactly that. Will keep my autotrader alert running though just in case something pops up.
