Hub nut won't stay tight

Hi all I have a problem which is P**sing me off, I bought a cv joint kit and replaced the near side one and after torquing the nut up it still came loose.

I then tightened it up again with a new nut and places the old but on as a extra safe measure but the whole thing snapped clean off the shaft taking half the shaft with it lol

I took it to a garage and they replaced the cv kit with a new one and torqued it up but again the nut keeps coming loose again.

It's affecting the brakes when it comes loose and the peddle goes squishy but I have tightened it up again and keep a ratchet in the car for when it comes loose again but does anyone know what the feck is wrong with it or has anyone come across this before?

I'm seriously thinking of buying new solid shafts from eBay to replace the whole lot.

Could this be down to a wheel bearing or hub fault?

Cheers

I had this problem but not on a Seat.In my case,i found that the disc/hub assembly was slipping round on the driveshaft splines. Therefore, every time i applied the brakes, the disc/hub was turning relative to the driveshaft, turning the hub nut with it,and hence, undoing it.

When it was in the garage they was beating the old shaft off because it was stuck like concrete and they thought it has slipped a spline but they didn't say it had so I'm guessing it hadn't.

When the nut comes loose and the brakes go squishy if I tighten up the nut again then the brakes immediately go back to normal. I'm just stumped as to why the nut keeps coming loose

I would check if there is any play in that wheel bearing. The only other thing to do would be replace the hub part with the splines in then everything is new. If it's still happening after that something's not being put together right
