Hi there i used the latest version of odis not vag com one thing to note is odis will rest the unit completely after a coding change. what I suggest you do is after you change the coding hold the power button on the radio for 30 seconds and it will reset it this should apply the skin let me know how you get on I'm not 100% on vag com as I have always used factory software I just no the coding should read 00000010
Apologise if I miss lead you on the bit change i just assumed on vag com bit 7 and 8 had to be changed that's why I put the coding up to show how it should look

The reset has done it - cheers.

So - for those using VCDS

Select 5F ( Information Electronics )
Then coding - 07
Then click on "long coding helper"
Go down to byte 17
Un-tick bit 1
Tick bit 2
Exit
Click "do it"
After it says code accepted - come out of all the controllers
Do a system reset - hold power button in for 30 seconds

You now have carbon background to the media unit.

Just out of interest, when you have proper vcds and latest software (I have a generic cable and some generic BT adapters none of which work with vcds or vcds lite)
How do you know what tweaks do what? Are there options which are described as such or is it all like hex codes which you have to know specifically which bit to change etc?

Tempted to buy one but if all the settings are uber vague then I'm not sure I will try , especially since I'd maybe wanting to charge others for the use of it to make some of the money back on it, if things are not obvious then I most likely won't have time to become an expert on all vag cars to be able to do that.

Gave the car its first major clean and wax. So many little marks on the car to sort out but overall i was happy with the result.

Stunning. Is that the black pack?

No standard 19s but for some reason they seem to look black in the pics. 1 wet wash and dry. 1 waterless wash and a coat of HD wax. Wheels have a few marks that need doing though the other half has no idea how they got there . Hopefully a rub down with wet and dry and a good polish should get them looking good. But at present my arms hurt so that will have to wait :D

nice sunny day you've had. mines been horrid.
what cargo net did you buy? I'm looking at getting one. It doesn't include that strange picture of a (VW?) car behind it though does it? ;)

can't remember I've had it for a few years and never used it ,i think it was from a seat altea. I will have a look in the morning see if it has any part numbers on it.. The vw rally car was for the kids bedroom but it never made it :(
