Downpipe and decat only has one o2 sensor hole

As in the title really. A few weeks ago I brought a downpipe/decat set off Ebay as my flex pipe was blowing. Stupidly I should of brought the Toyosports one, or in turn done my homework properly as the one I purchased only has one 02 sensor hole in the decat section. What's the repercussions from this, as atm one of the sensors is tied up out the way.

Is it possible to leave it as it is, drill and fit a new sensor hole, or option three of buying a new downpipe with the o2 hole.

Any advice is welcome.

Cheers.

Just to add the car seems to be running fine (atm) I did have a P0139 O2 Sensor Circ.,Bank1-Sensor2 Slow Response code come up on vcds lite. I have a Lambda spacer to go on too but am surprised the cars not run funny with only one sensor plugged in.

The car seems to of had the Sai taken of it too with a novel way of blocking off the airbox pipe hole using a bottle lid of some sort... ( I won the car on Ebay cheap after selling my Mkiv Supra) which makes me wonder what else has been done to it.

I'd try and find out what else is masked up, a bottle lid for a stopper? :wtf:

As for your original concern, I'm not too up on downpipe and decat with the sensors, I've not got anything to back me up in terms of helping you out either so take my advice on this with a pinch of salt!

I wouldn't leave it as is, I would personally waver between getting a new one (the right one) and selling the current one you purchased, or if you want to save money and time, if you're 100% certain on what to do and are capable of doing it (myself not being hehe! :)) then go down option 2 and drill a hole so you can fit the sensor properly. AGAIN; Only do option 2 if you're capable and know what you're doing! :)

I know I couldn't believe it regarding the bottle lid, some people are incredible. I didn't see the point in deleting the Sai if that's how it's going to be left, plus I'm unsure of how to cure that too.

Regarding the downpipe I was considering getting something like this welded in-Lambda Probe Sensor Boss 18mm Exhaust Weld In O2 Oxygen Sensor Universal Bung (can't post link due to post count)

If I don't take that option then it will be a case of sourcing another downpipe; although annoying.

Live and learn I suppose.

Yeah, some people are incredible haha! Chances are someone will pop in here tomorrow concerning your SAI delete, there are a lot more people on this forum that know far much more than me and I believe one of those will be able to point you in the right direction or source you to how to cure it! :)

Just done a quick search for you, is this what you mean: Lambda Probe Sensor Boss 18mm Exhaust Weld In O2 Oxygen Sensor Universal Bung? I can understand how you feel with the links hehe, I think it's either 10 or 15 posts then you're good to go! :)

Yeah, Living and Learning is an ongoing thing, sometimes expensive, sometimes not. Hopefully this isn't going to sting you too much mate and fingers crossed you can get it sorted relatively quickly! :)

I was trying to just lurk in the shadows, but needed a bit of advice.

Hows your hunt going or have you shelved that plan now?

Knee's not great, some idiot shoved a camera in there last week.

Nice option to have a Lcr as a daily. I need to sort it out,as I've now just owned a peasant spec of both cars.

In the end I've brought a-Stainless Steel Exhaust Lambda Oxygen Sensor Boss Nut M18 x 1.5 Decat to be drilled and welded into the downpipe.

I believe atm the wideband sensor is plugged into the decat with the heat/temp sensor tied up out the way. I also have a 90 degree 02 spacer to go on to keep the eml off too.

As far as I understand it, first lambda controls mix, second is there to check efficiency of the cat. The weld on bung is the way to go as a local machine shop/welder/garage should be able to stick it on for a couple of quid.

The 90' spacer just keeps second probe out of the flow a bit so the ecu thinks the cat is still there and working ok.

Based on the way you've described that bodge with the bottle cap, I'd be going over the whole car looking for other problem areas. Aren't you getting a light for SAI incorrect flow?

Yeah the bottle cap does concern me. To be fair after Googling about doing a Sai delete, it's alarming the amount of other people doing a similar method. I was thinking about getting an alloy silicone hose blanking cap and fixing that over the hole in the airbox instead.

Iirc the sai light was on when I brought the car which I turned off using vcds lite (handy bit of kit considering it was a £5 lead off Ebay) and it's not returned in the 500+ miles I've done since.

I had knee surgery last week so I'm not in a massive rush to get out there atm. I'm trying not to like the car too much as I'm pining for my old one still. It' s a slippery slope though. In my spare time I've already started looking at remaps etc- but am telling myself not to bother seeing as how cheap I won the car on Ebay for.

Sorry to jump in , but has anyone got a guild for the lamba sensors ? I've got engine management light on due to the decat . The garage did try to remap it out when went stage 2 but it keeps popping back up .

I've brought a 90degree O2 sensor spacer for around £10 delivered. It is fitted onto the 2nd sensor (decat not downpipe) which should be the cure to your problem too.
