What Is The Best Oil To Use In My ASV 1.9TDI 110BHP Leon?

soon looking to service my leon 1.9tdi asv 110bhp its got 150k on the clock few mods on it just wondering what oil you guys would recommend, this is my first not PD diesel so not sure what oil to use.. some guidence would be much appriciated

please recommend me some oil grades and brands!

You need an oil that conforms to VW 505.00 specification and says so on the bottle but most diesel-specific oils will be. Given that the engine must be getting old by now, a good quality oil is better. Here's what Opie Oils recomends.

i usually use mobil super 2000 10w 40 so i guess i'll stick with that unless i need a different grade..

The SAE grades are only one part, and a small part at that, of the specifications that lubricating oil has to meet, referring only to viscosity at various temperatures.

I'd probably go for a fully synthetic oil rather than semi-synthetic.

what is 0W-40?
seen some mobil super 1 turbo diesel oil but its 0w-40?

im going to need 15w-40 fully synthetic..?

0W means that its Winter grade, the cold performance, is maintained down to a lower temperature, typically 0°C - but there is a set of specifications it has to meet for viscosity at low temperatures.
