The Ridiculous Fading Panel Lights

How is this of any benefit. They can still be easily seen as it is still daylight. Yet another useless aid which means people don't have to concentrate as much when driving. Rant over!

It depends where you drive. For me, the auto light function is the most useful option of all. Unlike the UK, Spain has loads of road tunnels. On my trip today I went through 22 of them. Dipped lights are compulsory and the fine for noncompliance is a £150 on the spot fine.

On my last Leon, the headlight switch had lost all its black covering after 2 years due to the heavy usage! On the other hand, the auto wiper function is a waste of time as it rarely rains and the roads are clean! My windscreen washer bottle has never been topped up in 18 months.

Probably my best option, but often I don't want full brightness.

Yes you can - I have full LED lighting on my FR with the convenience pack ( auto lights, auto wipers & auto dipping interior mirror )

Probably but it could get expensive.

You are going to need the switch with the auto position and the sensor.

IIRC the sensor is built in to the interior mirror mount on the screen.

BTW, the panel light adjustment is not sensitivity, it's brightness.

True. But the adjustment setting, which was mentioned before was for auto light sensitivity. That's separate to the panel light adjustment, which indeed is just brightness.
As for the Auto light sensitivity, I can set it to Low, Medium or High. Then it switches the lights on depending on how light/dark it is. Haven't tested it yet, if the 'High' sensitivity is really different to 'Medium' or 'Low'.

Same as Mk2. Sensor was by the FR/R logo on speedo iirc.

Don't you just hate all this mollycoddling? It's a car. I don't really want it to tell me to put my lights on, wipe my feet before I get in or other such nonsense. I'm a grown up. I'm perfectly capable of looking out of the window and deciding for myself if I want the lights on.

Having the dash dim when a seagull flies overhead is just annoying, it is not a good thing and I don't like it. Please forget about the stupid computer tricks and get the basics right, like heater controls I can adjust without having to look at them. How come Ford could get that right thirty years ago and Seat can't today?

I'm currently in discussions with Seat CS regarding this feature. I have received two phone calls and email confirmations and tech staff are looking into it.
I am wondering if a 15sec delay built into the sensor software would be the answer?
Perhaps others could ask Seat CS for this issue to be addressed?

Heard from Seat CS and nothing can be done. I have made all relevant points raised in this thread to CS.
I will order auto lights in future.
I have to say I was impressed with the way CS treated me.

I have never needed to adjust the heater controls - 20ºc all year round - what's difficult about that?

What's that got to do with it?

The lowest temperature we get is 1º in winter and the highest (like last week) is 45º.

Either way, the climate control is set at 20º.
