Hi guys,

I've just installed my new set of MTEC H7 and H1 bulbs today and have a slight problem I was hoping you might be able to solve for me.

The H7s are working and looking great but the H1s not so much. First of all they look very yellow when illuminated unlike the H7 but that's not my problem. The problem is when i turn them on to illuminate the road they do absolutely nothing! And I mean nothing:

Dipped beam:

Main bean:

There is literally no difference!? The lights are illuminated so they aren't broken it's just they don't illuminate like a main beam should. Have I don't something wrong when installing?

All help is appreciated. Thanks.

Mine were the same, they were great to look at but useless in lighting up the road

These are neither. They provide no light at all and are extremely yellow, not the 'Super White' they claim to be. The colour isn't my problem though, it's the fact they provide no light, they even reduce the light when turned on as you can see the H7 dipped head lights dim down as they are switched on as the H1's are drawing current.

They're H1's, there purpose is to light up roads further than the H7's can see isn't it? The reviews for them are quite good which is why I am wondering if I've installed them incorrectly or something. I could believe they aren't the best at lighting up the road compared to alternative brands if they at least lit up further than the H7's? I'm so confused.

The H1 is the top left one. The really yellow dim one.

You can see the nice white light from the middle H7's (and LED sidelights), and they actually light up the road quite well as dipped headlights. I just can't believe the H1's aren't either faulty or not working down to an error I may have caused. The first pictures I posted showed that there is absolutely 0% improvement in the range of the light when they are switched on. I can literally see nothing infront of me when driving at night

You need to test for voltage at the lamp holder to determine if the bulbs are faulty or the wiring/car. Are they 100w or standard?

The previous bulbs were working fine. I'm going to plug them back in to see if it is the bulbs or not. Voltage wise it should say in the picture at the top of the first post. They are the ones on the left in the white box mate. Says 24V 70W, 150W? Just numbers and letters to me :D

Thats your problem! They're 24v lamps but your car is 12v, so they're not going to work. Send em back and ask for 12v ones :)

If they won't take the 24v ones back, find your local truck stop and ask there, they use 24v :D

Don't rub it in ... . The only reason I bough them was because Craig put a photo in his readers ride thread of the exact same ones, saying he was yet to fit his which he purchased!
