Hello,

I'm currently in the market for a second hand Seat Leon and ideally I'd like my car to have full link so I can use Android Auto.

When looking online is there any easy way to be able to tell which cars have it installed.

I know some of them you need to activate it through the dealer but as I understand it you need specific hardware in the first place. I've read that you need a 2016 model year car to have this hardware but then I've also read that some 2015/14 model cars had it through a different navigation system. Any ideas?

I know I could ring the dealers up but I've tried that for a couple of cars and they didn't know what I was talking about!

Easy way to tell - USB port in the centre console cubbyhole

Whether it's activated or not, you'd have to look in headunit settings and/or try it out.

Thanks for that. Should make it abit easier.

Does anyone happen to know only MY16 cars will have it or will some earlier models have it?

Also I'm sure I've seen somewhere that someone has manged to upgrade the sound system on the car to a new model. Has anyone got any more news on that?

Some MY15's had it but only if the car had Sat Nav High or something. Someone on here has got that.

I'd suggest a quick Google and see some vids on YouTube. Apple CarPlay and Mirrorlink for Android being the main difference to a car that doesn't have it.

I'm not particularly won over by it to be honest. Yeah Google maps and all that but I'm not a high say nav user anyway. Maybe just doesn't suit how I use smartphones etc. The interface upgrade is good though.

I found Android auto pants, I tried Mirror Link then found out that my HTC m8s didn't work with it. I couldn't find a way to configure anything so what you're given is what you get

I use Android Auto every day so Full Link is well worth it for me. I use spotify and Pocket Cast for listening to music and podcasts and used to connect via Bluetooth in my old car. Now with FullLink I don't have to mess about trying to control my mobile as it all comes through to the headunit.
If you don't use your phone for media then it's probably not worth it, the built in Sat Nav is good enough and you've got bluetooth for everything else.

Is mirror link where it literally puts your phone screen on the car screen?

I have an iphone and a android phone. It'd be nice to use the Waze app and also Music / e-mails and text messages?

The car I have ordered comes with it, just curious more than anything.
