I have a Leon cupra and the last week on starting it up in the morning the choke tries to come on it acts iratically the revs drop really low and is very jumping like it's going to cut out. The best way to describe it is like its starved of fuel it lasts about 5 to 10 seconds then the car is fine and drives mint. It doesn't do it after being sat all day at work only mornings.

I've u plugged maf and cleaned it no difference. I put a oe quality coolant temp sensor on but been told to buy genuine then it should cure the problem. Any other ideas as it is literally morning only and drives sound.

I have very similar issues and they only started after replacing the coolant temp sensor, which didn't turn out to be the cause so I wouldn't be changing that just yet.

Mine appeared to be the breather hoses underneath the manifold, I also had a hose that, although looked connected, wasn't! Just behind the DV to the Hockey Puck on the TIP.

Give there a good check and look for other split hoses, you'll need to have a really good poke around.

I also changed the plugs as I didn't know the age or mileage of the ones fitted, but not sure that made the difference.

Thanks for the reply. Wouldn't split hoses cause issues whilst driving 2. It literally is only 5 to 10 seconds in the morning. I will have a good check but mine is modified too.

It didn't effect my driving at all, only the high idle on cold starts, warm starts was fine.

I will have a good check around then. How do you spot split hoses tho just by looking there's that bloody many. I've got a fmic fitted also

Give them all a tug to make sure they are well connected and just move around any joints or connections. If the are perished then you will see that in the rubber.
