Bonnet Sound proofing?

Does any one have sound proofing on the bonnet in the petrol versions, i found some info about sound proofing on the diesel versions but not on the petrol, here is the part number 6J0 863 831

Thats a shame I'm thinking of getting one to quiet down that loud 1.6 petrol.

mines a petrol, and doesnt have sound proofing, however its only a 1.4 so not the loudest lol

My 1.6 never came with sound proofing i thought that was odd but didnt say anything at the time. is it only the cupra which has it?

my old 1.9 tdi altea had soundproofing but my brothers 1.6 petrol didnt - they were both reference sport models - seems they do
it to the diesels but not the petrol models

This is not only for reducing the sound. It protects the paintjob as it does not let the heat get out.

It's a heat shield as well as sound proofing so it would be unwise to remove it. Unless you don't care about your bonnet paint that is

You could try using a water repellent spray similar to whats used on softop's if your worried about water .
