I don't really go off mpg but miles per tank. Generally I get
290 miles out of the Cupra through my average driving (mainly comfort occasional sport/Cupra modes). I have found though that when I was using economy in individual mode it was more like 270 miles.
If my understanding is correct no fuel is going into the engine when you are coasting in gear using the engine breaking. But when the economy mode disengages the drive and let's it idle, it does use fuel. So I think economy mode gearbox wise is pointless. Not sure if it changes anything in the ecu as well. I've stopped using economy mode as it annoyed me and didn't make the car enjoyable to drive, plus appears to use more fuel than comfort mode l.
