So I've noticed recently my headlight buzzer has stopped coming on with the drivers door open.
Is this going to be the door lock module? I've already replaced it once but with the cheaper eBay version so I expected it to have a shorter life.
Could it be anything else worth checking or is that my main culprit?

does the interior light or door light come on when you open door if not then it is most likely the door lock module

No the lights dont come on which is what started my suspicions, interior lights only come on when the key it removed from ignition.

Looks like I'll be swapping the door module again then -_-

I think the cheap eBay unit I got was like £30 and it's been in just over a year or so. I'll probably get a genuine one this time

How do I get mine working again?
You may have the same issue as me then. In that case it's the drivers door module, it's not exactly hard to change but it is a bit of a pain in parts.
If you set your interior light switch to the middle position they should turn on when you open your doors, if not then it's the module.

When I changed mine last time it had broken so far as I couldn't even lock my car as the car thought my drivers door was open all the time.

Just finished replacing my door module.
Headlight buzzer now works and my interior lights also activate with the door open!

I'll attach a pic of the old module, it has signs of rust around the screws so I can only assume the microswitches inside are corroded or something.

Hi am I right in saying there are two modules in the car door. The locking module and then another which I presume does wing mirrors, windows etc?
Which one needed replacing as I have the same issue? Is it the lock?
Sorry if sounding thick:confused:

Not too sure but I think the electric windows and mirrors are in the comfort control module (ccm), and I don't think that's in the door, might be worth reading up about that though as I'm not totally sure.
I didn't see anything else in the door besides this module I changed though.

Electric windows, mirrors and so on are controlled by a module which is part of the window motor itself. You'll see a multi-way connector going into the motor housing which carries all the signals.

Is that the one with about 14 wires going into it?
