These are the engine cylinder compression values for the BWA (2.0 TFSI) and the BWJ (2.0 TFSI Cupra) engines...

And just to be clear im looking for around 14bar?

The "New" values are what you should expect to see when the engine is pretty much still brand new with low mileage and still very tight tolerances. The "Wear Limit" values are the lowest you should see on a used engine with higher mileage and some amount of wear. Anything lower than 7 bar means you likely need new rings and maybe even a re-bore.

The compression test should be done with the engine cold. The workshop manuals actually state that the oil should be around 30 degrees celcius which in some countries would be cold (air temperature). Doing it at UK air temperature should still give you acceptable results.

If you're a stickler for being precise and it's not urgent, you could just wait and do it on a warm day, or run the engine at idle for no more than a few minutes because the oil will heat up pretty quickly with the engine running.

Bang on explaination mate , really appreciate the help im just fussy and like to the know the condition of everything on my engine , i had a tfsi a few years ago and it was burning oil like a 2 stroke , this one is fine but im just making sure as if i need rings id like to catch it early and not have to rebore my block
