Burning plastic/rubber smell in seat ibiza

Hi all, i have a 1 year old (just) Ibiza on finance and I know it's been hot lately so it may just be that, but whenever I get inside the car to start my journey I get a very strong smell of fumes that resemble burning plastic or rubber. Is this common? I'm unsure whether to take it anywhere and pay X amount for it when it may just be melting in the sun.. which of course isn't ideal either! Thanks in advance!
