Spotify on any platform other than full link?

As the title suggests, can you access Spotify on my phone through the media on anything other than full link? Reason being, from what I can make out, full link is an absolute bag of w**k. Phone barely ever connects through mirror link and seat drive app ( plus you need a secondary app to run Spotify through this anyway) and Android auto is about as reliable as, well you get my point.

I have large playlists on it that I'd like to listen to that will cost me a fortune to buy and download all of the tracks if I was to have to use sd card or us stick etc. Could unreliable connection be down to the usb cable?

Any help would be great. Cheers

Spotify is hit and miss as is full link to be fair. When full link wants to work spotify rarely does. I've got Google play and amazon music working with absolutely no issues at all.

I got a good run on spotify going by uninstalled and reinstalling the app but that's not a solution.

Spotify does happily play via media though as do the other apps I use.

I've tried multiple USB cables to no avail.

I stream Spotify over bluetooth if that's what you're looking for.

Spot on. Presumably that's set up to stream from the Spotify app itself, using the phone as a remote effectively.

Will try and pair it in the morning, I was trying to do it from the car as opposed to from the phone, doh!!!

Spotify works faultlessly with Apple CarPlay everytime... Perks of having an iPhone ;)

Just waiting on Waze for Apple CarPlay and then I'll be happy

Will Waze and other apps be incorporated into Apple CarPlay?

Hopefully one day, however I'm not holding my breath as you know how Apple are when it comes to pushing their own product in your face (i.e, making us use Apple Maps).

I know that Andriod Auto already have it, so I guess that's one of the perks of Andriod Auto!

For some reason Spotify app is unable to find my car in the Bluetooth devices list??? I don't get any devices in fact, thus is getting highly frustrating lol.

When pairing your phone with the bluetooth, in the car, set the phone for phone and media usage?

1. Switch Bluetooth on your phone
2. Search for devices on your multi-link system or whatever you have (usually media or phone)
3. Select the device when it's found
4. Go to the Spotify app on your PHONE and play your music

Cheers guys, will give it a go in the morning. My Bluetooth is permanently on on my phone but I will try setting it to media and phone and see what happens.

Right for some reason it still won't work over Bluetooth however I did have a breakthrough with mirror link, rock scout and deezer earlier. Fingers crossed this will continue to work for me, if not back to radio I guess lol

Seems weird as I have never had an issue with either Spotify or Android Auto in my car. In all the years I've been using Spotify I actually cant remember the app crashing on me once. With regards to using Spotify over bluetooth R4CK5, just pair your phone with the car and that all it takes. Just put your radio to Media and play the music through the Spotify app on your phone. Dont try and select a different output device inside the Spotify app itself. You'll be able to control it using your steering wheel controls also.

It wasn't the Spotify itself that was crashing, it was the Android auto disconnecting almost permanently!!! Oh and my mirror link did the same to me thus morning too which is annoying lol.

My phone is paired with the car, makes calls etc so will try playing through media tomorrow. Hopefully it will work for me but who knows.

Just as a possible solution of you haven't tried it already, try a different USB cable for Android Auto. I've heard people having connection issues and the cable being at fault. Worth a go.

Update, took car out for a quick spin and got it to connect through Bluetooth at last. If I'm honest I think it was me over thinking things and imagining it to be more complicated than it actually is. As suggested, simply started the car, ran deezer on my phone and flicked the car to bt audio and it then gave me the option to select a device. This didnt happen before but following previous advice on here I had unpaired and repaired my phone and car so maybe this is what sorted it.

Cheers guys much appreciated.
