Forge FMIC 1.8t and Stage 2

Hi. Apologies if this isn't the place to ask this question as I guess it's not exactly specific to Seat but I am sadly left with a car with knackered piston rings (and fairly trashed). So it's worth nothing as a car sadly, but I was wondering whether a second hand front mounted forge fmic was worth anything or really if anyone buys 2nd hand uprated parts.

Is there any direction someone could point me in if there is a market? I'd have thought so given the amount some of these things cost new.

The problem is finding someone who has a Leon they want to do up for cheap.

Further question, it has a revo stage 2 remap. Can ecus be transferred to a car the same model?

How did your rings come to be knackered? They're quite robust on the 1.8T

ECU can be swapped into another car but the locks, clocks and ignition barrel need to go with it. Getting the mileage right is a problem without some in depth coding. The other way is to have the immobiliser defeated on the ECU, but that then degrades the security of the car and likely invalidates your insurance.

Forge intercoolers used to command a good price second hand but you can now get new ones that work just as well for about £150 brand new.

The whole car really. Someone a few years ago spent quite a bit of money on it: Don't get me wrong, as far as looks go it's definitely had its day. Bodywork is pretty poor... you wouldn't want to invest in the car but you could strip it.

It still has the standard turbo. Well that's not true actually it's a 3rd party k04 or something which is a slightly altered k03 I believe. But I tell you that just to give you an idea of how many additional parts it has. Someone spent money but didn't go crazy and upgrade the engine manifold and throw a bigger turbo in.

The reason I've kept it so long is because i like a fast car and sadly I won't get anything near as quick for what it cost me which was only 2 and a half grand about 4 years ago. If I was to have a standard 1.8t in a good condition I'd have loved to find someone in my position.

I'm in Kendal so a bit far to assess it I guess mate!

I assumed it was a wear and tear thing. The car has done over 120k now so I thought maybe it happened, especially under the greater demand required of the engine. I have been driving it for about 2 months now with smoke billowing out of the exhaust. Had a compression test which proved the issue. I haven't got the money to spend in fixing it as I'm not mechanic and I'm the sort of person that if I was to fix it I'd end up uprating everything and spending a fortune.

Thanks for your replies by the way. Especially on the lower value of the forge fmic. I guess forge is more of a a designer label now?
