Morning All,

Is it just me that really enjoys renting a van for moving stuff... There's something about being a van man that seems better than a car even without the speed or handling lol

My favourite thing is being able to extend my arm fully forward to say thank you to someone instead of just raising my hand whilst on the steering wheel.

Random question but hey, I'm a random sort of guy...

We have a Ford Tourneo Custom and i have to say Vans are not what they used to be, more like cars these days.

Plenty of poke and for such a big van it goes round the corners well, however yesterday when I went to fill up with fuel i got a £90-00 shock but then the trip to the tip is much easier with a big van.

I got a sprinter to drive and it wasn't slow but as it was a long wheelbase it was old school van style handling haha

Yeah filling up doesn't seem as fun. Forgot to check mpg of the standard drive... What do you get for vans these days?

She is showing 36.6 at the moment, Its got a very nice 6 speed manual gearbox and Ford quote 50.4 but we don't do any long distance driving so very happy with this figure.

That's the best mpg I can get out of the Cupra R lol
 
Afraid my Cupra is in the twenty's but then I do enjoy the car....

Yes the new diesel engines are very good (even if they don't want us to drive them anymore) giving good fuel economy and i have to say power

I think I must drive like a pansy haha off to find me some v power garage at the weekend so I know where I have to tavel to so I can get this r tech map for 98ron and above.

I do like a good surge of power midrange on a dirty diesel!

Sure you don't drive slowly but if you are petrol I also use Tesco Momentum 99 when I cant get to a Shell garage.
One good thing about the MK3 Sat Nav when you run low on petrol it pops up with all the petrol stations near you.

I have the High Octane map on mine already although it also comes with a low octane version (which I dont use).

My mpg went up after my r tech map

I can have fun and still average 28mpg on a average drive thats including a few spool ups

Had a transit to drive from Glasgow to Birmingham and back, £84 quid in fuel.

Thing was fully loaded with extras and comfy as hell but the rectangle shape doesn't like wind much

Haha I think I should be a man with a van as a hobby... Shame I'm skinny and probably not built for lifting all the time lol

That sounds like a crap journey lol how long did that take?

It was a work thing, 4 of us going down for a conference and to somsome reason enterprise gave us a 9 seater transit lol

5hrs taking the toll road each way. It would have been more than £84 in fuel, I gave it back with 1/5 tank. Had I filled it again it would have been £130/£130 in fuel.

I will say a transit is capable of greater than 70mph in my opinion ....
