hi, the engine shakes quite violently at idle. Doesn't matter if the car is up to temperature or not.

Doesn't seem to do it as much if I keep on the throttle slightly to increase the idle speed.

It has recently just come out of a garage with a new DMF & clutch, which they said was the cause of the problem.

Is it something else? Or did the garage just do a bad job?

It's going back into the garage on Friday morning to have a look, but until then I wanted to get some independent opinions.

Cheers

The idle it'sself isn't rough, the needle stays still, but you can feel it in the cabin the engine physically rocking as it idles. If you have even the slightest throttle to increase the idle speed the problem seems to go away. I'm at a loss with it, having spent £700 on a DMF/clutch thinking that would fix the problem.

With the engine switched off. Can you rock it by hand?

or jack it surprisingly far up.

Does the engine visibly move around alot when it's running (and stationary obviously) ?

Yes it does. It did do it more erratically before i had the DMF/clutch change. However it now shakes pretty much from side to side as it idles.

My thoughts are engine mounts or driveshaft, i'm not a mechanic though.
