Currently sat on the edge of Milton Keynes with a floppy belt. Was poodling along at 40 mph when i lost all acceleration engine still running at idle. I pulled off the road just in time for a red battery light and engine cut out. Had a quick look at the belt is loose. Not sure yet if the belt snapped or pully sheered. Now have a 4hr wait for the RAC.

Anyone got any good news like it's a magic engine that doesn't smashed the pistons in to the valves Lol?

You shouldn't be able to see the loose cam belt, it's usually wrapped up inside the belt covers.

You'd see a snapped Aux belt easily enough though.

Hi

Home finally...

It's definitely the cam belt but it looks fairly new and has gone loose.

Engine light isn't on just battery light.

It's a 2006 I bought from a private seller but the belt was done longer than 12 months lol.

Does anyone have the locking positions, procedure as i intend on looking and realigning tomorrow lunch time

So stripped it put it back together and runs but isles perfect however it has no power and smokes a lot

Compression test next? What colour smoke?
