Hi I’ve just replaced my rear discs and pads and my handbrake ain’t as good as it was, could it need bleeding or anyone got any ideas thanks cupra r mk2
Handbrake should be better and have slightly shorter travel initially with new pads on as they are thicker. Could be due to pads not being bedded in yet.
Have both cables been connected back up properly at the callipers?
If all assembled back up it should self adjust the handbrake once the reservoir cap done up and brake pedal pumped till a firm pedal feel is there. With the brake fluid topped up the handbrake on mine didn't need adjusting by me when i did the 4 discs and pads. Until the discs have had a bit of use bedding in they wont be at 100% and the discs will have an anti rust coating to scrub off by braking yet.
