I have a Leon FR remapped to 225 hp just recently whilst driving in eco mode and coasting when I touch the throttle the car will rev hard no drive until I come off the throttle sometimes I get nothing unless flick it into sport.....
If I leave the car in drive I have no issues. I have just replaced the DSG oil and filter (seat dealer) and it still happens. Any ideas? I don't want to send it in to Seat and have my eyes took out...

When I tried it on way to Nurburgring it was awful, the car even though it was on cruise control seemed to want to keep speeding up and slowing down. MPG was like 28, ran the same journey in normal mode and got like 34-36.

Having an engine idle isn't actually very fuel efficient anyway. It's no different to putting a car in neutral when coasting etc.

It's more efficient to leave it in gear as modern cars use 0 fuel when under no load/using engine braking.

Yes, but its more efficient coasting then using acceleration to make progress, for example when coming up to a junction or down a slight hill. When used correctly I guarantee it’s more efficient, otherwise why would BMW/VAG and other manufacturers use the coasting function.

To define the question am I going to have any other issues with the gearbox? Is this a sign of something small that will become large and cost me more money in the long run?

It really does not work in cruise. You have to be able to make use of the coasting. Cruise seems to make my MPG much worse, probably due to the lack of coasting past the limit.

I agree, I use eco mode a lot when I am out and about at work, and it is like the DSG box, in that you have to adapt your driving to it and not drive just normally. It you jumped in a Prius and drove it like a racing car you would not get the mpg they should do. Cupra for fun, Comfort for family trips/winter and Eco for work is my method.

Same as me. - love having the driving modes
