so i've just ordered a set of 18" cast 13 RB2 wheels after recently lowering my leon FR estate on coilovers. By lowering i mean i've slammed it!!

Has anyone stanced their leon estate with these sized wheels? i'm desperate to know if i've gone too wide lol

I've read that 8.5j is the limit to the arches, but i'm hoping that 9.5j with the little camber that lowering has gave it, and a slight stretch to the tyres that theyll poke quite nicely.

Any who, if noone replies ill put some pictures up on this post. maybe someone will want to know one day as i couldn't find much.

I dont know but the stock wheels I am guessing are 8J with an ET50 offset so you are going a fair bit wider.

When you say you have added some Camber do you know how much.

Hopefully somebody in the Know will be able to help.

Couldn't tell you mathematically how much mate no. But dropped all the way on my coilovers so naturally there's a bit of negative camber. yes, the standards are 7.5j not sure about ET, but there is quite a lot of gab, say an inch and a half or so between the wheel and the arch. Will see, if they are too wide hopefully the place i ordered them from lets me swap the rears for some 8.5j ones :')

Im not sure what im running on the rears but ive got upgraded 18's on mine and im looking at spacers for the rear and springs or coilovers.

Il measure what mine are and the gap ive got from wheel to arch.

also try willtheyfit.com

This gives you a good indiction of movement.

Pretty sure that's going to be too wide.

I had rubbing with 18 x 19 ET40 wheels (ET50 with 10mm spacers) on a 15mm drop. Removing the little plastic lip would of probably solved it, but as I also reduced the front spacer size, I'll be running 5mm going forward.

With so many online resources now, you don't even need to do the maths yourself.

Using: www.willtheyfit.com :

Comparing my setup that rubbed with yours and assuming 225/40 R18 tyres...

I had my rear camber set to -2 degrees at the rear, but the rubbing was still there.

i just put the correct details in for my standard wheels and new ones in on that website. it says theyll poke 40.4mm more than the stock wheels, which should be fine as they are over an inch from the wheel arch currently. only thing i'm worried about is they will sit 10mm further in towards the suspension. being a torsion beam rear though, there is a fair bit of room there. i suppose will have to get some wooden blocks out and test fit them the oldschool way!

40.4mm = 1.59 inches as @Damo H said you will need to remove the black tag to stop that rubbing

19 x 8 ET45 fits fine as that is what the R ST Runs.

19 x8 ET40 rubs on that little extension, I never got around to removing it to see if that was the only thing as I put the 10mm spacers on the front.

This is all on 235/35 R19 Michelins. Other tyres in 235/35 trim maybe narrower (think Falkens not the bigger brands). 235/40 R18 mayeb fine on an 18x8 ET40.

9.5 on the front and 8.5 on the rear? You're really not going for handling balance are you?

Rear wheels larger than the front.

Not really needed on anything other than a RWD car, or very powerful RWD bias AWD.
Not what he wrote; "Will see, if they are too wide hopefully the place i ordered them from lets me swap the rears for some 8.5j one"
9.5 front, 8.5 rear.
Lift off oversteer will be fun.
