Hi all,

I’ve tried to search but couldn’t get a definite answer. Does anyone have or be able to give a clear step by step guide on how to install the rear spoiler extension to my FR mk3. It needs priming and spraying which I will get done however it seems fairly straight forward to apply without paying for the body shop to do.

also what’s the best bonding agent and tape to use in the process?
Cheers

Sikaflex black is the best. It is what I used for mine. It air cures and will stick forever once done. Is yours a gen spoiler or a copy. Will need to test fit first If aftermarket. Body shop will tell you what to do I’m sure.
Just search for sikaflex spoiler adhesive and it will give you the options.
Cleans areas thoroughly and flat back the paint where the spoiler will go.
Run a bead around the contact area of the spoiler but not too thick or too near the edge as it expands while drying and it’s a bitch to remove overspill!
The spoiler will stay in place once pressed firmly into position to allow you chance to tape it overnight or all day away from any rain. I used good quality masking tape ie. frog tape etc.
There are YouTube videos for fitting spoilers and obviously doesn’t need to be a seat Leon as the principle is the same.
Good luck

it’s an aftermarket one but fits pretty nicely and cleanly when I’ve test fitted it so just a case of getting it painted and put on now. Appreciate the help I’ll get some of the adhesive you recommended cheers mate

How much have you been quoted for the priming and painting out of interest?

When I asked briefly when they fitted a diffuser for me they said around 80-90 quid, not sure if that’s a good price or not as I’ve never had anything sprayed before this

Ok thanks, I've never had anything sprayed either. Guessed around £75 so £80-90 sounds fine.
