Hello,

I have just bought a 63 plate 1.2 TSI 3 door Leon Technology pack.
I have noticed when I got it home that the headlights have a lot of marks on what looks like the inside of the lens.
Can anyone tell me from the attached picture what headlights I have ie can the bulbs be replaced?
Or are they the LED lights I've read about that do not need to have the bulb replaced and are sealed units ?

Thanks alot

Those are LED for the dipped, main beam and DRL I believe only the indicator is a tungsten lamp which can be replaced.

Those early model headlights often get dust trapped on the inside of the lens, but there isn't anything you can easily do to remove it.

Remind me, what's an indicator?

Front lights are all LED on those units, including the indicator. Rear has bulbs for indicators, fog and reverse light.

ok so no bulb changing required ?
If not what are the two covers on the back of the unit for ?

Reason I ask is it looks like the lens has wipe marks on the inside in the corners as if someone has tried to get into it from the back of the unit where the two covers are located.
There is the usual dust that BoomerBoom has mentioned and 'Ive seen pictures of on this forum which is more noticable when the LEDs are on.

The best use for those covers is to remove them on a sunny day and dry out the condensation that forms inside the lens - probably not what they were intended for though.

It's possible someone has tried keyhole surgery, but I can't see how that would work as the dust is adhered to the lens by static.

Yes! Thats excactly what it looks like!
Ill post another pic of the lenses when this rain decides to stop and you will see what I mean.
That was my thought, get a keyhole surgical swab type thing (technical term ha! ) and get in through those covers.
