Car 1.8t Ibiza cupra 2004 180bhp

Getting rich fuel trims
idle -0.4%
run -7.8%

Looked at the FPR Fuel Pressure Regulator it says 4.0 bar part no 0280160575

Should it not be 3.0 bar for a stock 1.8t part no 037133035C

If anyone knows what their 1.8T FPR has?

Given that a normally aspirated petrol car normally runs a fuel rail pressure of 35-50 psi, 4 BAR (roughly 58psi) doesn't sound surprising at all.

Thanks, do you think I should swap it for a 3 bar, as it's running rich, previous owner perhaps swapped it to 4 by mistske?

Yes
First make sure the car is stock 100%
And I really doubt the previous owner has made a mistake, the 4 bar regulator comes in a few specific cars, and has nothing to do with the ibiza.
So make sure it is complety stock, if it is, just throw in the 3 bar regulator.

I don't have a 3 bar so would need to buy one, just wondering if that could cause the rich running. It all looks stock. Not sure now if it it came with 4 bar as it's a VAG one

Yes it could cause it to run rich.
The ibiza never came with 4 bar FPR.

Just put in an second hand, VW 3.0 bar 037133035C FPR

Then reset the fuel trims in vcds

WOW, so much more power than with the 4 bar, 30% more, I would guess.

It now lights up the tyres in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears, it's crazy fun to drive it again, even got the back out a little on a bend I was going so much faster, before it would bearely spin in 1st lol.

Thanks, so much for all your excellent advice on this, I would have never thought the wrong FPR could rob you of so much power.

I will report back on new fuel trims in a week or so.

Checked Fuel trims today, they look much better

idle -0.9%
run +4.7%

So added together +3.8% lean, that seems well within specs.

Before it was around -8.2% to -9.8% rich, when added together.
