Had the cambelt changed and runs fine but the gas and brake pedals now have a buzzy vibration (not the clutch though). Nothing major but it's annoying and you can still feel your feet tingle after a drive.
Mechanic is coming back to take a look but just wondering if anyone had any ideas what the cause might be?

Hello there,

my guess would possibly be engine mount/s, if your mechanic has removed the top engine mount on the drivers side to gain access to the cam belt, and had the engine supported with a jack or similar, and then lowered or raised the engine to gain better access when needed, this can sometimes put extra strain on an already warn engine / gearbox or stabilizer support mounts.
The stabilizer support mount also known I think as the dog bone can be warn but if disturbed can sometimes cause vibration through underside of bulkhead. When the engine is lowered or raised with top engine mount removed, the dog bone mount doesn't always go back to it's original alignment, which then can pull down on the top engine mount once that's refitted, but your mechanic ideally should have test driven it after, to be honest maybe he did and it was ok at the time ?

But it does sound like something is out of alignment.

Hope this helps

Thanks for that. He did test drive it, but unless you're familiar with it you might well think it was normal.
Engine mount seems likely since it's the only thing that has been removed and refitted, but I'll get him to check gearbox mount too. Mount be worth sticking in a new engine mount if he's going to remove it only to refit it and find it makes no difference.
