Hi all sorry if I've posted this on wrong area, just noticed that the trim on my windscreen has been cut on both sides of the car, 3 clear slits probably done with a Stanley knife. I'm gutted. Does anyone know the process for changing? Is it something I can do myself?
It's a 20 plate leon cupra

Do you mean the rubber trims on sides of windscreen? Same thing has happend to me, some **** cut one of them with knife.

Fortunately, they are cheap and easy to replace. They are just pluged in metal railes. So you just rip them out and put a new ones.

Tomorrow I can send you part nr. If you want.

Cheers mate, yes it's the trims. I've managed to order some. I'm starting to wonder if it's been off scraping the window of ice. I'd be amazed if I hadnt noticed at the time though. We haven't had ice for a while.

That seems logical. The notion of some ned coming along and cutting the rubber with a knife seems a bit too random.
Aye that didn’t happen

nobody attacked the car window rubber with a stanley knife

you CAN damage the window rubber by pressure washing too close to it, say trying to get a stubborn bird dropping off.

hit the rubber trim and it just tears it (like a knife)
Been there and got that particular t-shift

Yeah I'd put two and two together with a bloke in a work van reversing straight out without looking and nearly hitting me and had him down as the guilty party. It would be a subtle way of doing it rathe than keying it. I'm amazed I haven't noticed it.

Looks like ice scraper damage to me.

My daughter put scratches all over her car with a plastic ice scraper. Thankfully I was able to get most of them off, she was lucky it wasn't a metal ice scraper.
