Had the car about 3 weeks from new , this light has popped up about 4 times now , it happens random , can’t seem to find what it is for in manual anyone have any ideas

That is the collision warning light. I am assuming it means that the collision warning system is not working.

I found the collision warning light pops up on some cars after you’ve hit a pothole or gone over a bump a bit too quick. Or even after closing a door too harshly. Not sure if the SOS light is due to lack of signal or whether it’s linked to the collision light popping on.

I’ve read on some VAG forums that the SOS light coming on randomly can be caused by a faulty SOS / Emergency control module.

If it is connected to front assist water in the sensor could get dislodged by vibration or movement. The Arona's front assist can throw a warning if the car is parked tilting. My theory water then moves to shield the radar signal. Noticed that on the Arona. Has happened a few time now.

I often have this icon facing a metal fence or mesh. It goes out when I retract.

Yellow means the system works with limitation.

Nice one, I have been searching for this one as i am noticing it every so often as I start the car.

I'd still be a bit careful when you see the message. The old school platform message was impaired sensor which you'd get in a rain storm / heavy spray. If charging down a motorway means you can't count on front assist to stop you hitting something. At that point ACC would be compromised.

The metal fence will be the radar bounce back is outside of parameters like heavy rain, spray etc and attempted calibration. I see two example above the white and the yellow referred too.

There is a different (yellow) icon and a specific pop up message when the radar is impaired.

Seems most of these cars are impaired quite a bit ?. The non MQB Evo ones remain fairly solid.

General rule:
White - information.
Yellow - warning (system dysfunction or safety function actually in action).
Red - you probably need to stop the car.

All this is described in the manual (which you have received in the car or can be downloaded from the website). It is worth spending one weekend to read it and not be surprised on the road.

The yellow ones in the UK Seat dealers like to clear and put on a watch list and not repair the fault under warranty. Duck and dive. On the Ateca thread someone bypassed Seat dealer on this and called Seat Assist. They came out as AA rescue and recovery to the person's home, called out a VAG specialist that fixed it a few days latter and no doubt Seat got the bill. Moral there somewhere. My neighbour is being spun a yarn on the SCR warning light, Seat have told the dealer to put it on a watch list, clear but not replace the part. Something to bear in mind, the Seat Assistance route if a dealer isn't fixing an issue.
