New alloys, making scuff/metal noise over bumpers!

Hi guys, would love some help with this, so I’ve swapped over my alloys from stock (Leon cupra 290 facelift 69 plate) to some 19” 8.5j ET45 wheels with 245/35/19 tyres, since they’ve been on, over bumps and dips, I get a metally/scuff noise from the rears. The fronts are fine and have plenty clearance. Just wonder what you guys may think it’ll be?

Hi mate is there a chance your tyres are catching the arch under compression?
It wouldn’t sound metallic tho not sure what that is sorry.

The 245/35 tyre is likely your culprit. The wider rim and offset should be fine with a 235 tyre, even a squarer tyre type like Michelin PS4S, but a 245/35 is a taller and wider tyre than the 235/35:

Chances are it will catching on the little lip they stick on the rear arch.

I think I’ve figured it out, it’s the stone deflector catching under compression. Little plastic bit on front and rear wings.

Yeah that’s what I’ve put above.

Rear is only held on by double sided sticky on to the arch.

To remove, if sat facing your wheel push it away from you, ie towards the car/inside the arch.

Fronts are held on in the same way but also use the bolt that pulls the top corner of the bumper in-line with the arch. So you need to remove the arch liner to get to that.
