I've done 800km in mine so far, my average is 12.1l/100km (around 23mpg). It's mostly motorway with a few short runs around town. I wasn't expecting any better than that and absolutely no idea how you guys can be getting high 30s mpg. The best I've ever achieved was 9.8l (28mpg) and the worst 25.8l (11mpg)

This is pretty indicative of my general experience.

I've been running it on Texaco super 99 Ron.
So, I did some testing on this - and after a brief placebo phase where I THOUGHT I was getting better mpg and power on 99, I did 10 separate runs, 4 of them on 99, and 6 on 95, and the fuel economy was within 1-2% - basically no difference at all when you consider the slight variances in the trips etc. After going back to 95 from 99, I also did not notice a decrease in power.

My advice is to stick with 95.

Absolutely, as stated before you’re never going to notice the difference, if any, between 95 and 99. I can understand a “money-no-object” approach to just going with 99 but I’d prefer to save the £5 or so per full tank…

seriously though, averaging mid twenties. Slightly better on a run as someone stated before. Pretty much what I expected

I wasn't planning to revert to 95RON, especially since E10 came in, but this evening, circumstances have forced me to do so. I needed to fill up for a long trip, and my two local Shell stations were both out of V-Power. So 40 litres of Shell standard unleaded have gone in, mixing with the 15 or so litres of V-Power still in the tank. It'll be interesting to see how the car performs (or how I perceive it to perform) on the stuff.

Had to do the same myself tonight. I just put in half a tank as there’s another Shell garage on my way to work, so I’ll give that a visit tomorrow.

The formentor i have says recommended 98+ but can use E10 95 ron ,it does say a reduction in power though. VZ2 310.
most of my work is town based ,400 miles in averaged 24mpg .... quite surprised its lower than the tuned beemer was ! more weight less power im guessing.
