Water leaking rear view mirror

The roof looks damaged from the photos it looks like it’s been peeled back as it’s curved up. Just checked both my mk2 Leon’s and my roofs are flat on the top of the screen. I’ve looked at the photos for a long time and it looks the same all the way long. That will be why it’s not sealing the metal work isn’t straight.
I’ve had a panel beater check the photos as well and unfortunately he’s said the same from the photos.

Do need to get sealant stuff off though

Google wonder wipes from screw fix that’s what we use at work for sealant cleaning very good product and won’t harm your paint in anyway.

the photo what you see is what I have put in. It was flat Iv put some seal inside it and it needed to be pushed in more.
The job before that was the wet sealant which I fooked up hence the bits of sealant left there I can’t remove haha

Were you able to confirm the cause/fix for the issue.

I'm having the exact same issue on my 2005 mk2 leon.

I noticed some drips from mirror and when I checked behind mirror it was soaking.
I took off the central light and I could see moisture/ condensation on the roof.
I've a towel stuffed in above the mirror and I have to keep changing it.
For past month the condensation inside has been worse than normal.
Also in icy weather the inside of windscreen was frosted over.

I'll try to get some pics, I haven't tried to fill in the seals....yet

Hey,

yes it was the seal on the windscreen literally on that big only, I had that replaced and cost me £70 and to this day no more problems with leaks

Sorry to dig this up again. The leak "magically" disappeared for a while and I foolishly thought that might be that.
But now it's back and I can't avoid it any more.
Did you need to have the windscreen taken out and put back in?
Or was it a case of pumping in more sealer?

Haha that’s what happened with mine then it came back ..

nah I had someone out he took windscreen out and resealed the area that was ****** then out windscreen back in., no problems since

I'm going to have to take the plunge.
Spoke with 2 different repair companies and they are both worried about it cracking.

Yep unfortunately that is the risk you take, and if it does crack then a full replacement windscreen at cost to you
