Wheel off and push it out from the back is probably the safest option.

Agree. I’ve also seen suction pullers that fit on the front of the centre cap so in theory you should be able to pull the cap out without damaging either the centre cap or alloy. I’ve never used one so can’t vouch for how effective these pullers are.
