Hello,

My car is 5f Cupra 2020 on 40k kilometers and about the end of last year, when it was ~ 27k i started to notice this rattling / buzzing noise / rattles of plasting on the dashboard. IT happens when i accelerate, or i go through a more bumpier road, it does not matter if it's hot / cold outside. The higher the speed / the harder the acceleration the more i yera it . From the inside it's between the two wipers as a location. If i knock on the airvent on the dashboard i can hear it very little. Any idea what this can be? it's getting worse and worse and it's driving me nuts... i still cannot believe that this appeared on such a low mileage car...

Thanks.
Georgi

Hi Georgi
I had a similar rattle/buzz when slowing down, I traced it to the hard fuel lines that are routed into the inner wing under the bonnet, I packed sponge around them (when you locate them it'll make sense!) rattle/buzz now gone!
good luck!

I have now come to the conclusion that owning one of these great cars comes with a compromise..... rattles and creaks, just when you think you have found them all another one appears......I absolutely love the car, but , hey it's the compromise you have to live with!!

Yes these cars are famous for rattles, Seat even provide a workshop manual titled Manual for detection and diagnosis of noises :)

There is a specific TPI for a rattle from the instrument cluster rattling on the dash panel behind it, check if there is felt on the upper part of the dashboard behind your cluster

Correct, there is a TPI. This states that a felt is glued to the speedometer.
Has anyone got the details of this TPI that they could share? Our 2018 ST has started rattling/buzzing around the instrument panel area; it can be temporarily silenced by pushing against the black panel surround, but it's driving me nuts ?

Check the link I shared, this is easily done by yourself. I also had the exact same rattle

Use this video to see how to remove the surround

Hi @toshvmax, I am struggling with the same problem for couple of months now with my Leon 3 Cupra 2019. I have been already to an after-warranty VW service, they charged me for "fixing" which worked only for a moment and then it went back. I would like to check this on my own but I don't have access to car pit or lift. I will ask some mechanic to let me use his workshop. But could you please let me know what exactly you did to fix your car? Maybe you could post some pictures?

Hello All, thanks for joning in and apologies for the late reply i am not sure if my issue is from the dashboard, i am attachin few clips that show it's from the front of the dash and it's really freacking me out...

Hello All,
I took a look at the document that was attached for fixing the noises but i am not able to match my issue to any of the same? Any ideas would be appreacited.
Thanks.
Georgi

@georgemilev , if you get rattles also when you play music, remove dash center speaker cover and check if GPS antenna is secured. I had this similar problem and after securing it no more rattles.
It is next to dash center speaker under the same cover for the speaker.

Hello, i was about to update the topic, yesterday i have decided to disable the soundaktor and i think the buzzing is gone, i will monitor and further update the thread.

Thanks for the idea, do you have a guide where i can check how to remove this speaker?
