Hi all,

changed to a 2019 Leon mk3 2.0 diesel FR. I don’t own an OBD eleven, considering getting it. Has anyone used it to prime the fuel after a fuel filter change? cheers.

I've replaced the diesel filter twice, on a 1.6 and 2.0. Just swapped the filter and he car started and ran perfectly. No hiccups, nothing.

Same - making sure you pre-fill the filter bowl with clear diesel.

Had some difficulty with Ford and Jaguar diesel fuel filters - having to pull fuel through with vacuum pump and crack of injector pipes! A pump priming procedure would have been handy on these cars.

Have you done this before? Looking for someone with experience of performing the process before I buy one! Cheers
You just need the OBD dongle and Carista app on your phone. Then follow the prompt in the app to activate the pump and that's literally it.

All of the Carista support options are listed here:

Same here too, changed it on mine without a dongle. Just topped the chamber up with fresh fuel and sealed it back up, all good!

Thanks billy,

is it the carista obd or evo that you are using? Cheers

End result, my bro has an autel computer that is capable of priming the fuel system, definitely worth doing. Took the old filter out, emptied the housing gave it a wipe, filled with new diesel as much as I could, sank the new filter into it then ran 4 prime cycles of 30 second each and it started fine. What surprised me was how much air I could hear being pushed through while the prime cycle was running.
