Well I hope I don't have to use mine for a flood!@WozzaB exactly! We had that same gripe with the Bissell. We also found another use for it haha. End of last year, our basement was flooded and the Bissell saved us a lot of time with removing the water![]()
That’s really useful information @tracktoy thank you…think I’ll save a few pennies and stick to the blanking plate mod and opening up the other side as @nd-photo.nl has done.Firstly this was a very long time ago but
I started off with the R600 and cant say I ever noticed any difference in performance but I did have issues when trying to install a Stage 1 map, ended up having to revert to stock box. However I will still using the stock pipework.
Later on I changed it to the Revo Open Cone setup (for noise impact) which worked very well on a noise level but again no big change to performance (butt dyno)
I would stress in those days (and it was a long time ago) I did not do much track work so not sure if I would have noticed the difference there.
I then went stage three which means I now run a modified turbo and have the full Revo front to back air system (along with loads of other stuff) so the car has been setup to run on this setup but I have upgraded lots of bits to keep engine, dsg and oil temps down.
You’re welcome!Thank you for this!
Just arrived, got blue and black now, this is your faultFound it with the partnr, thanks a lot!

I take full responsibility, but have zero regrets hahahaha
To be honest, I didnt pay that much attention to it. But I can imagine that it helps, getting as much air to the turbo as possible was the goalYou’re welcome!
Have you noticed any difference opening up the other side of the air intake?
Do you have the part number or link please?Dammit, broken the bank by paying £1.86 from Seatpartsdirect![]()
I must admit, I posted that before seeing that you’d gone whole hog with a new filter and pipe too!To be honest, I didnt pay that much attention to it. But I can imagine that it helps, getting as much air to the turbo as possible was the goal
It was a good suggestion, and cheap!I take full responsibility, but have zero regrets hahahaha
I also received mine just yet, will be fitting it later today
Yeah it's a tight fit, I was stretching it around the fluid bottle opening and pinged it out of the engine bay at one pointThe Cupra has a totally different location. It was quite a tight fit, but I love it

We do all need that picFitted my R600, turbo elbow and coolant hose, I’m sure you all need a pic of another mqb engine bay with an r600![]()
The Mrs’ stomach dyno says it’s a bit stronger but we only went about 2 or 3 miles. Certainly sounds better but still quiet compared to some cars I’ve owned in the past.We do all need that pic
The question is, how does it feel?!
“Stomach dyno”, love itThe Mrs’ stomach dyno says it’s a bit stronger but we only went about 2 or 3 miles. Certainly sounds better but still quiet compared to some cars I’ve owned in the past.
As I wasn't going anywhere over the weekend I cleaned the driver's seat and rear seats.I just gave the passenger seat a bit of a spruce up, it's first time since I got the car last June.
I sprayed the seat with upholstery cleaner and used a brush attachment on my drill and gave it a good going over! Then used the Bissell spot clean pro for the first time, I only put clean water in it as I wanted it to try and remove as much of the cleaner as possible.
It looks pretty good, but they always do when they're still damp, hopefully it'll still look good when it's dry

Yeah it’s not the cheapest of intakes but the almost factory look and the fact it’s quite tame in terms of noise suits me for a daily kid lugger.“Stomach dyno”, love it
That’s cool, not too loud is where I want to be…mentally close to pushing the button on the R600, just financially not there yet!
