Move selector lever to position P/N!

Seat Leon Copa 2012 1.6tdi Automatic
Have had this for a few weeks nows, car sometimes starts up fine then sometimes I get this, I have to either to put it in N then it starts or deadlock the car and start again, 7 months ago had a TCM put in, have change the gearstick but still no joy, please can anyone help

DSG? I thought P (Park) was necessary to enable the engine to be started. Also foot on brake? Certainly true for a 2018 car.

Yes foot on brake but still nothing

Do brake lights always work? Faulty brake pedal switch if not? Is a brake pedal switch still fitted to cars?
