Model Year 24/25 Handbrake and drive

Anyone had an issue on facelift model where I engage drive from standing and the car lurches goes out of drive and handbrake is on ,does it 2 or 3 times then it's ok

Newer platform VWG vehicles have a very annoying auto brake feature that's incredibly sensitive. You need to make sure you don't lift your weight off the seat and always wear your seat belt when manoeuvring.

This is a known issue and there is a TPI software issue to fix this.

Whilst there are new PV software update suites available for older models, the only TPI that directly relates to the OPs complaint (pretty much word for word and model year specific) is one that advises you to make sure you are wearing your seatbelt to prevent the situation occurring.

Thank you. I couldn't get the car to move . It kept going back to P. My husband had no problem without the seat belt, but the seat belt idea worked for me

My wife had this the other day in the the Leon and to me it seemed that she was putting it into gear and immediately hitting the accelerator, as in hitting the gear shift as she lifted from the brake to the accelerator. This was reverse on a slight incline. Every time it went into park and the handbrake came on.

In my case I don't do that - I put it in gear then release the brake but don't hit the accelerator as it's on a hill anyway so starts moving. When she did the same it didn't happen.

Mibbe it's a timing thing. (No expert and this is only my 2nd automatic)
