Hi all,

Looking for some help my 71 plate Cupra Formentor has developed an intermittent fault of electric drive not working correctly please visit workshop.

It comes and goes, seems to be no pattern to the cause or effects the driving in anyway. Just curious have others had this fault? And if so what was it? And were the repairs covered under the battery warranty?

Any updates I have had that too before the red coolant warning light came on

Mine needs the control units replaced in the HV battery. Been in the garage coming up to two weeks now. Covered under 8 year warranty. Yours sounds like the coolant pipes for the battery which seems to be very common, I've come across Formentors and Leon's with the same issue.

I don't know it's in just now at Cupra Arnold Clark Edinburgh. They say it's the heat exchanger , but it's a nightmare as I bought it from Motorpoint , took out cover and it's horrendous trying to get them to payout .
The Cupra garage states this is the first step at a cost of £1100 !

The heat exchanger for the battery? Surely it will be covered under the 8 year warranty.

I don't know not what they said. It's the silver one to the left hand side of the engine ? Any ideas folks if this should be under a Cupra warranty , cars 4 yr old , 40k miles ?

You could either ask your dealer to confirm if it's covered by the HV component warranty or if not, see if there is any factory goodwill available.

Any I've replaced outside of the normal 3 year/60k mile warranty haven't been covered by the HV component cover.

Checked battery only not the components . Even messaged Cupra customer care to no avail
