Hi all just had my oil level light come on after and hour drive and when I checked it was low so I filled it up straight away to the half way mark. On my way home about half an hour later it came on again and when I checked it was still at the same level any ideas? Thanks

Might just be a faulty oil level sensor unit, now keep an eye on your oil level and if it "warns" again for no good reason, consider replacing the oil level sensor module in the sump.

Edit:- oil level sensor failure is not unknown on VW Group cars.

Half way mark

Make sure you fill it to the top of the gridded area on the dipstick.

I always thought you were supposed to keep it at the half way of the dipstick?
Not with the 184 or the low oil will keep triggering. If mine is at half way, it only has to "use" a little bit of oil and the oil light comes on. I does seem quite sensitive. Nothing wrong filling it to full. Then check every week and see how much you are really using. The 184 is prone to a few oil leaks as well.
